Here comes version 2, now with better blur..
blur_samples 100 confidence 1(okay, very close to) variance 0
Render time with radiosity and the 10x10 area light: 14 hours

But I'm not satisfied yet..

I think Peter's suggestion will certainly help.

achieve the impression you desire.

Nah.. Peter's trick only smoothed the blur.
I rendered a small pic with aperture 15 (picture attatched), and as you can
see, the focal point goes all the way along.. So the question to you all
goes: How do I focus only the center of the image, and blur only what's
outside a certain radius?

Attatched images:
p_blur03_small.jpg (3.11 kB) - Aperture 15 - to show my focus problem
p_blur03_more blur_rad.jpg (43.4 kB) - Better blur with radiosity and 10x10
area light (14 hours render)
p_blur03_more blur_no rad.jpg (7,53 kB) - Better blur but no radiosity /
area light (1hour 40 minutes render)
